Breast Cancer Today: An Evening of Care & Community

In Ontario, it is estimated that 8,500 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and that an estimated 2,000 women will die from the disease in 2008. In Canada, it is estimated that 22,400 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, making it the most prevalent cancer among Canadian women. On average, one in nine women in Canada will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, and one in 28 is expected to die from the disease.
Breast Cancer Today: An Evening of Care & Community is tailored to the needs of people diagnosed with breast cancer, their family members, friends and informal caregivers.
This educational forum will focus on breast cancer quality of life and survivorship, including opportunities for participants to connect with others affected by the disease, learn about services and support groups in their community and hear about the latest breast cancer advances and initiatives. The forum will feature speakers Dr. Mark Clemons, Dr. Som Mukherjee and Mary Ann O'Brien.
Breast Cancer Today is presented by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario Region in partnership with Scotiabank.
